This Policy applies to all purchases made on indiaproplaw.comand is read with our Terms of Sale & Use. It complies with the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.
1. Memberships & subscriptions
- Cooling-off window: You may cancel a new paid membership within 7 days of first payment for a full refund, provided you have not downloaded more than 2 paid items or attended a live event.
- After 7 days: Cancellations stop future auto-renewals but no pro-rata refund is provided for the unused part of the current billing cycle.
- Annual plans: Refunds after the cooling-off window are at our discretion and only in cases of prolonged service unavailability attributable to us.
2. Library & digital products
- Digital downloads (templates, e-books, recorded courses) are non-refundable once the file has been downloaded or the course has been accessed, as permitted under Rule 6(3) of the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.
- If a file is defective, corrupted or materially different from its description, write to us within 7 days for a replacement or full refund.
3. Legal services & consultations
- Before work begins: Full refund less payment-gateway charges if you cancel before our advocate starts work on your matter.
- After work begins: Fees for work already performed (drafting, review, research, consultation time) are non-refundable. Any unutilised retainer balance will be refunded.
- Consultation no-shows: If you miss a scheduled paid consultation without 24 hours' notice, the fee is forfeited. One free reschedule is offered for genuine emergencies.
4. Failed or duplicate payments
If you are charged but the order is not confirmed, or you are charged twice for the same order, the excess amount will be auto-refunded to the original payment instrument within 5–10 working days, subject to bank processing time.
5. How to request a refund
- Email hello@indiaproplaw.com from your registered email ID.
- Include order number, date of purchase and reason for the request.
- We will acknowledge within 48 hours and decide within 7 working days.
- Approved refunds are credited to the original payment instrument within 5–10 working days.
6. GST treatment
Refunds are processed net of any non-recoverable payment-gateway charges. Where a tax invoice has already been issued, a corresponding credit note will be raised in compliance with the CGST Act, 2017.
7. Chargebacks
Please contact us before initiating a chargeback with your bank. Frivolous chargebacks may lead to account suspension and recovery action.
8. Grievance redressal
Unresolved complaints may be escalated to our Grievance Officer at hello@indiaproplaw.com. You also have recourse to the National Consumer Helpline (1915) and the consumer commissions under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
